MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said parts of Metro Manila, Pampanga, and Rizal may experience moderate to heavy rains on Tuesday afternoon.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 12:57 p.m., June 18, the state weather agency said rain showers accompanied by lightning, thunder, and strong winds may begin or persist within the next two hours.
Thunderstorms were already ongoing in portions of Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, and Bataan, and that such weather conditions may last up to two hours, Pagasa added.

Pagasa urged affected dwellers to exercise measures against related risks.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” it said.
Earlier Tuesday, Pagasa warned of a dangerous heat index in Metro Manila and 23 other areas in Luzon.
Heat index in the “danger” category ranges from 42°C to 51°C, which may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke.
