Despite the projected dangerous heat index in parts of Luzon, other areas, particularly the western part of Southern Luzon and the western section of Central Luzon, are still expected to have overcast skies with rain showers due to the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” according to Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres.
The Visayas and Mindanao are not projected to experience a dangerous heat index, but Torres said warm weather with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are possible.
