Dismissal of deputy ombudsman not yet final, says exec
MANILA, Philippines—Assistant Ombudsman Jose de Jesus said Friday Malacañang’s dismissal of Deputy Ombudsman Emilio Gonzalez III cannot be implemented immediately because it was not yet final and was subject to appeal.
De Jesus also said the Office of the Ombudsman had already investigated and cleared Gonzalez of the same allegations against him long before the Palace issued its dismissal order.
De Jesus faced the media at the Office of the Ombudsman, saying Gonzalez was not available.
