Alice Guo urged to undergo DNA test with ‘Lin Wen Yi’
MANILA, Philippines—Bamban Mayor Alice Guo is urged to undergo a DNA test with a certain Lin Wen Yi, a Chinese national believed to be her biological mother.
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian forwarded this suggestion in light of controversies hounding the Tarlac town mayor’s “dubious” background and upbringing.
“Madali namang mag-imbento ng kwento, kaya ang pinaka maganda ngayon ay mag DNA [test] silang dalawa para mapatunayan na itong mga lumalabas na impormasyon ay hindi totoo, at lalakas ang kanyang posisyon,” the senator said in an interview with Radyo 630.
(It’s so easy to fabricate a story; that’s why what’s best right now is for the two of them to undergo a DNA test to prove that this circulating information is fake, as it could strengthen her position.)

However, Senator Risa Hontiveros released several documents to the media on Thursday to illustrate Guo’s alleged ties to Lin Wen Yi.
Citing entries in the documents, Hontiveros noted that Lin Wen Yi was among Guo’s co-incorporators in at least seven businesses.
Previously, Gatchalian said residents of Valenzuela could vouch that Lin Wen Yi was referred to as the mayor’s mother when the Guo family lived in the city.
He likewise cited flight records purportedly showing that Lin Wen Yi traveled with Jian Zhong Guo, the Bamban mayor’s father, at least 170 times in seven to eight years. As for their destination, Gatchalian said that most of their travels were to China.
“Karamihan ay sa (Mostly to) China. Almost—mga nasa (around) 70 percent ay sa (is to) China,” he said.

“’Yung iba, iba-iba na—Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan—iba-iba na. Madalas silang bumiyahe. To be honest about it, nakita ko sa flight records na halos buwan-buwan bumabyahe sila,” he said.
(The others vary, such as Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Taiwan. To be honest about it, I saw from the flight records that they travel together almost monthly.)
Guo became the center of a Senate panel investigation after her name was found in several documents of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) based in Bamban, Tarlac. The Pogo was raided in March for alleged human smuggling, among others.
The local chief executive was even accused of being a China spy, which she denied.
