NDRRMC: Infrastructure damage due to Typhoon Aghon tops P365 million

MANILA, Philippines — Infrastructure damage due to Typhoon Aghon (international name: Ewiniar) surpassed P365 million as of Friday, May 31, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).
In a situation report released on May 31, the NDRRMC indicated that Aghon caused P367,470,000 in damage to 44 infrastructures in the Calabarzon region. Calabarzon stands for Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.

It also said the typhoon partially damaged and destroyed 18 and four houses, respectively, in Eastern Visayas.
Meanwhile, agricultural losses due to Aghon stood at P21,651,458, according to the NDRRMC.
It added that the count of people affected by the typhoon remained at 51,858, while injuries and reported deaths stayed at eight and six, respectively.
