MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected in Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned.

A thunderstorm advisory issued at 2:05 p.m. said unfavorable weather conditions will be experienced in Metro Manila, Rizal, Batangas, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Bataan “within the next 2-3 hours.”

Pagasa added that the above conditions are already being experienced in Quezon (Tagkawayan, Unisan, Plaridel), Laguna (Los Banos, Bay, Calauan, San Pablo), Bulacan (San Ildefonso, San Rafael), Cavite (Ternate), and Zambales (Santa Cruz) and may last within two hours and affect surrounding areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” the advisory read.
