Worker dies in Antipolo City soil erosion

LUCENA CITY — A construction worker died on Monday, April 1, after dislodged soil buried him in Antipolo City, Rizal, the Region 4A police reported.

Allen Glen Malab was removing the braces of the concrete wall at a construction site in Barangay Sta. Cruz around 4:40 p.m. when the wall suddenly collapsed. The eroded tons of soil buried the victim, the report said.

Rescuers recovered the body of the victim four hours later.

The police are conducting an investigation.

The remains of the victim will be subjected to a post-mortem examination and autopsy to determine if there was no foul play behind his death.
