MANILA, Philippines — A 16-year-old TikToker, who allegedly jumped off a passenger-cargo vessel on its way to Calapan Port on Tuesday, survived after getting rescued by authorities.
In a report on Wednesday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it received a distress call from the Philippine Ports Authority about the victim on board a vessel en route from Batangas Port to Calapan Port.
The agency said its substation in Calapan, with the help of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, rushed the victim to the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital.
No other details were revealed about the victim, but her video falling from the vessel made rounds on social media on Tuesday afternoon.
“A subsequent inquiry revealed that the victim, alias Dolly, is experiencing family conflicts that led to her actions,” the PCG said.
The agency added that the 16-year-old had already been released from the hospital and was deemed in “good health” by the attending physician.
