Social media users note another erroneous LRT sign
MANILA, Philippines — Social media users called out the management of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) 1 after another location name error in another sign.
Netizens on Thursday noticed its signage at the Pedro Gil Station labeled “University of Philippines Manila” — the word “the” missing before “Philippines.”

“Shouldn’t it be the University of (the) Philippines Manila? The signage is lacking @officialLRT1),” a user on X, formerly Twitter, posted in Filipino.
The Light Rail Manila Corp., which operates the LRT 1, replied that it was already working on the sign revision.
“Eagle eyes alert! Don’t worry; our team is already working on the signage. Thanks for helping us highlight the situation. Please have a safe trip,” LRMC replied, putting the last sentence in Filipino.
Previously, social media users also found an error in its sign at the United Nations Avenue Station, which said “National Bureau of Investagation,” referring to the National Bureau of Investigation.
