MANILA, Philippines — The viral “investagation” typographical error at the UN Avenue Station of Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT 1), which puzzled both commuters and netizens alike, has finally been changed to its correct spelling.

The sign, which was supposed to read “National Bureau of Investigation,” went viral online for misspelling the “I” in NBI to “investagation,” drawing laughters from netizens across social media platforms.

The Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) told INQUIRER.net that the sign was updated on Saturday, March 16.

First posted by Annie Rose Laborte on Facebook, some netizens questioned how such an error occurred in the first place, from several stages such as planning to printing and installation: “Not one of them noticed that?”

But some netizens also praised how the LRMC handled the blunder, admitting to the mistake, and even surfing the tide of its mistake by releasing a statement for the “letterally challenged” sign.

“That one signage might be a little ‘letterally challenged’ sometimes, but rest assured our trains are running smoothly to bring you safely where you need to go,” the LRT-1 management said in a social media post the same day.

“We understand its Taft to be in public service,” one netizen quipped.
