President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday witnessed the signing of the public-private partnership (PPP) agreement for the rehabilitation of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia).

The signing ceremony was held at the Malacañan Palace with government officials like Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri,  Speaker Martin Romualdez, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, and Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Eric Jose Ines; and San Miguel Corp. (SMC) president Ramon S. Ang in attendance.

Marcos, Biden, Kishida to hold trilateral meet

The Philippines, the United States and Japan are in the final stages of planning the first official meeting between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his counterparts US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Washington next month to reinforce the trilateral cooperation among the three allies in the face of an increasingly assertive China.

The planned meeting is expected to take place mid-April, coinciding with Kishida’s trip for the US-Japan Summit, a government official privy to the event told the Inquirer.

New law scraps ‘no permit, no exam’ rule

Educational institutions may no longer bar students from taking exams just because of unpaid tuition and other school dues, under a new law that took five years to be passed and was finally enacted early this week.

Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. on Saturday thanked President Marcos for signing into law on March 11 the No Permit, No Exam Prohibition Act, or Republic Act No. 11984. The senator is the measure’s principal author.
