General Santos City drug bust yields P1 million worth of ‘shabu’
COTABATO CITY – General Santos City police operatives confiscated more than P1 million worth of suspected meth, locally known as “shabu,” and arrested an alleged drug peddler on Friday night.
Soccsksargen region police director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said anti-drug agents of General Santos City Police Station 6 andDrug Enforcement Unit acted on a tip and launched the sting at past 7 p.m. in Purok 13, Escuala Village of Barangay Lagao on March 8.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Emran,” a 20-year-old student and tricycle driver from Datu Odin Sinsuat town, Maguindanao Del Norte.

Police also said that the entrapment operation led to the confiscation of 155 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P1,054,000.00.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to Macaraeg, the suspect was placed under the custody of Police Station 6 while awaiting further legal proceedings.

Macaraeg commended the operating units and assured the public that the police will continue to intensify its anti-drug operations amid the proliferation of illegal drugs in the city in recent months.
“In the face of relentless drug proliferation, we stand resolute in our mission to eradicate its grip on our community,” he said in a statement.
