Cops arrest 3 armed teeners, seize shabu in GenSan

MANILA, Philippines — Police operatives arrested three armed teenagers and confiscated suspected crystal meth or shabu at a checkpoint in General Santos City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported.

According to a PNP report on Monday, operatives from Police Station 4, Criminal and Investigation Unit, Region 12 Intelligence Division, and Police Station 6 were manning a checkpoint on Sunday in response to a flash alarm following a robbery incident in Damicog Street, Barangay Bula when they apprehended the suspects.

The suspects were identified as Vincent Salazar, 19; John Lei Frasco, 18; and Christian Caspillo, 18.

“Clearly, the suspects were armed and posed danger to the public at large. Complaints were filed against the suspects for violation of Republic Acts 10591, 9516, and Section 11 Art II of R.A. 9165,” Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., PNP officer in charge, said in a statement.

The police recovered three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth P1,035, a .45-caliber revolver, four calibers .38 live ammunition, and a hand grenade Fuze M204A2. – Xander Dave Ceballos, INQUIRER.net intern
