Alleged gun runner busted in Cavite

Wanted cop killer nabbed in Cavite

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested an alleged gun runner in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in Silang town in Cavite province.

The Region 4A police reported Thursday that “Jeff” was nabbed at 10 a.m. at a gasoline station at the Aguinaldo Hi-way in Barangay San Vicente 2 after he offered an undocumented STI Edge caliber .45 gun with a magazine to the police agent posing as a buyer for P30,000.

The police are investigating further to identify the source of the gun.

The confiscated firearm would be subjected to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine if they had been used in past crime incidents.

The suspected gunrunner was detained and will face a charge of illegal possession of a firearm under the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
