The GEMP is a government program that aims to reduce the government’s energy consumption.
Under the order, government agencies are required to have energy audits, submit an inventory of energy-consuming equipment, submit a timeline as to when they will replace this equipment with more energy-efficient products, and more.
Government agencies are also required to have a mechanism to monitor their energy consumption.
