Ex-cop among suspects involved in Pasay kidnapping
MANILA, Philippines — A former policeman was among the suspects who were arrested in Pasay City after allegedly trying to kidnap a 35-year-old Chinese businesswoman on Monday morning, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. did not disclose the identity of the former PNP personnel, but earlier, the Southern Police District (SPD) identified all suspects as alias “Joe,” 43; “Jhing,” 27; “John,” 25; and “Arn-arn,” 47.
“Personnel of Pasay City Police Station were conducting their routine patrol along Roxas Boulevard. They responded to a kidnapping incident involving a Chinese national that eventually led to the arrest of four suspects, including a former policeman,” Acorda said in a press conference.
“We are still verifying all pertinent data available and the history of the policeman,” he added.
