A videoke night out among three friends ended on a tragic note when one of them was stabbed dead in Ermita, Manila, as they were heading home.

Renato Cuanan, 26, a water delivery boy from Batangas Village, Pasay City, died of a stab wound on his left chest after he and his friends were attacked by two unidentified men as they were walking on Roxas Boulevard around 2 a.m. on Sunday.

Cuanan was heading home with Marinel Resurreccion and her boyfriend Alejandro Guimara after a late-night birthday celebration for Guimara at the Yakitori Dori videoke joint when they were assaulted, said Senior Police Officer 2 Virgo Villareal of the Manila Police District homicide section.
