Traslacion area is already no fly zone, no need for CAAP to issue notice
MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Monday said it will no longer disseminate a Notice to Airmen (Notam) for the implementation of the no fly zone and drone zone policy in the vicinity of Quirino Grandstand and Quiapo Church in light of this year’s Traslacion.
“[This is for] the assurance of security during the Traslacion, as flying in the said area is already prohibited,” said CAAP in a public advisory.

Captain Edgardo Diaz, CAAP deputy director general for operations, in the same advisory, said the area is within RP-P1 where both lateral and vertical flying within a two-nautical mile radius and 5,500 feet from Malacañang is prohibited.
The Philippine National Police earlier confirmed that authorities will implement a no-fly zone over the City of Manila during Traslacion.
