One Cebu IDPA shooters shine in Lapu

TEAM ONE CEBU International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) put up an impressive performance during last weekend’s Lapu-Lapu City Mayor’s Cup Shootfest at the Cebu Pistol and Rifle Association (CPRA) shooting range.

One Cebu’s Don Dejaresco, Rico Mongaya, couple’s Reynan and Tessie Vidal, Nelson Esguerra, Frans Pacaldo, Keith Andaya and Renante Nioda ruled the majority of the classification categories of the Level 1 Philippine Practical Shooting Association-sanctioned tournament.

Reynan Vidal lorded the Custom Defensive Pistol  (CDP) Sharpshooter and Stock Service Pistol (SSP) Marksman division.

Dejaresco ruled the CDP expert division while Rico Mongaya dominated the CDP-marksman division. Esguerra won in the SSP Sharpshooter division.

Vidal’s wife, Tessie, outgunned her foes in the SSP Ladies division to emerge champion. Pacaldo came out supreme in the SSP-Juniors division.

Andaya captured the crown in the Enhanced Pistol Division and Nioda in the Rifle standard division.

Meanwhile, Team One Cebu’s Dejaresco, Ding Abay-abay, Vidal and Esguerra will represent the Philippines in the CDP and SSP divisions of the IDPA World Shoot in Florida this September. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
