MANILA, Philippines — Forty-one percent of adult Filipinos think that their quality of life has remained unchanged from 12 months ago, according to the results of a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Saturday.
Only 28 percent say their quality of life was better than 12 months before and 30 percent say their quality of life was worse.
Those who said that the quality of life went better are termed by the SWS as “gainers,” those who thought otherwise were termed “losers,” while the rest were termed “unchanged.”
The net score of gainers was marked at -2, classified by the SWS as “fair.” The SWS added that this was the lowest net gainer score since June 2022.
The margins of error are ±2.8 percent for national percentages and ±5.7 percent each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The SWS conducted the survey from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 among 1,500 adults 13 percent of whom were in Metro Manila, 45 percent in Balance Luzon (that is, outside Metro Manila), 19 percent in the Visayas, and 23 percent in Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the number of gainers and unchanged fell from the same survey that the SWS released in October, but was conducted on June 28 to July 1. On the other hand, the number of losers increased.
In the survey conducted from June to July, gainers accounted for 33 percent, losers 22 percent, and unchanged 45 percent.
