Marijuana, shabu, gun seized in Cavite, Rizal drug busts

LUCENA CITY Policemen in Cavite and Rizal provinces busted on Tuesday, Dec. 17, four drug pushers and seized more than P283,000 worth of marijuana, shabu (crystal meth), and an illegal firearm.

The Police Regional Office 4A reported Wednesday, Dec. 18, that anti-narcotics operatives in Dasmariñas, City, Cavite arrested at 11:45 p.m. “Reynaldo” and “Ricardo” after they sold P20,000 worth of marijuana to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) Salawag.

Seized from the suspects were two sealed plastic bags containing marijuana fruiting tops weighing 1,000 grams worth P120,000 and another plastic bag containing high-grade marijuana or “kush” weighing 50 grams worth P75,000.

The police classified the suspects as high-value individuals (HVI) in the local drug trade. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.

In Binangonan, Rizal, policemen nabbed two alleged shabu peddlers, “Jerome” and “Angelo”, in a sting operation at 1:15 p.m. in Barangay Tayuman.

The suspects, both identified street-level drug pushers, were caught with six plastic sachets of meth weighing 12:86 grams worth P88,128 and an undocumented caliber .38 revolver with two bullets.

The four suspects were arrested, detained, and would face corresponding criminal charges for possession of illegal substances under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and undocumented firearm under the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
