MANILA, Philippines — A driver, who reportedly sideswiped and injured a motorcycle rider and his passenger along the southbound lane of Edsa-Ortigas, has been arrested and is facing an attempted murder complaint, police said on Thursday.
In a report, the Mandaluyong City Police Station said the unnamed victims on board a motorcycle sustained injuries after being thrown off when their motorcycle was struck by a red hatchback car in Barangay Wack Wack around 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday.

The driver of the car was allegedly agitated after the motorcycle rider attempted to overtake him, police said.
The incident was caught on video that went viral on the same day.
According to authorities, a Red Cross ambulance immediately responded to the scene and brought the victims to the nearest hospital.

Meanwhile, the suspect, whose identity was likewise withheld by authorities, was apprehended by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority personnel around 11 a.m.
He was eventually turned over to the custody of the Mandaluyong City police.
