MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) issued a warning about a fake account on Facebook that uses the agency’s name.

“A Facebook account with the name ‘DSWD 4Ps Update 2023 All Region’ claimed that the agency will provide P7,000 financial assistance to both 4Ps and Non-4Ps beneficiaries solely through messaging on the link it provided,” DSWD said.

But the agency clarified that it is not giving away any financial assistance worth P7,000 to 4Ps and Non-4Ps beneficiaries.

The DSWD encouraged Facebook users to report the post and the account that made it.

The agency also warned the public not to click dubious links or links that are not provided by DSWD’s official Facebook page.
