DOH warns public on fake vaxcertph accounts on social media

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a warning to the public regarding deceptive social media accounts imitating its official COVID-19 vaccination registry website.

According to the DOH, the fraudulent accounts are soliciting for money in exchange for registration on VaxCertPH, the official digital vaccination certificate of the Philippines.

The health ministry strongly reminded the public that VaxCertPH remains free of charge.

DOH then reminded Filipinos to be cautious when engaging with accounts resembling or pretending to be government officials or health officials.

The DOH also advised the public to obtain information solely from trusted sources and official social platforms of the department.

On Tuesday, November 14, the DOH received reports that the COVID-19 vaccination data from the Philippines’ housed with the World Health Organization has been compromised.

Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said that the department has taken further steps to enhance the security of its data systems.
