MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested by police officers for stealing cable wires in Quezon City on Friday afternoon.
The suspect was identified as Fernando Villanueva, 57 years old, living in Quezon City.
According to the Quezon City Police Department, Villanueva and his accomplice were seen cutting a cable in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Quezon City by a concerned citizen.
Authorities were able to apprehend Villanueva, but his accomplice managed to escape.
200 pairs of copper cable wire measuring five meters were recovered from Villanueva, which was worth P9,221.
Villanueva and his accomplice will be charged with a violation of RA 10515, the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013, at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
