Magnitude 3.4 earthquake jolts Quezon province
MANILA, Philippines — Another town in the province of Quezon was jolted by an earthquake, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported Friday night.
After a temblor in Burdeos, Quezon, Phivolcs said the town of Polillo was also hit by a different earthquake at 2:22 p.m on Friday.
Based on the agency’s earthquake information, the shaking was at magnitude 3.4.
Phivolcs said that Intensity IV and Instrumental Intensity IV were felt in Polillo.

Article continues after this advertisementAccording to Phivolcs, intensities are based on the actual shaking felt by people in the affected area, while instrumental intensities are based on the ground motion detected by an intensity meter.

Phivolcs indicated that the shaking was tectonic in origin and had a one-kilometer depth of focus.
No damage, nor aftershock is expected from the temblor, the agency said.
