Very peaceful All Saints’ Day in Metro Manila — NCRPO

MANILA, Philippines — National Capital Region Police Office Director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Corpus Nartatez Jr. on Wednesday said that All Saints’ Day in the metropolis is “very peaceful.”

Nartatez said that about 23,000 police and public safety officers, including those from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and other public safety forces, were deployed for Undas 2023 and the recently concluded barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

“As of now very peaceful ang ating pag conduct ng undas,” Nartatez told reporters in an interview at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.

(As of now, Undas is very peaceful.)

He also noted that the NCRPO is in charge of monitoring 74 cemeteries and 53 columbaria in Metro Manila.

Nartatez reiterated that the security officers and personnel are thoroughly checking cemetery visitors to ensure the safety of everyone.

When asked if he is in favor of the no-overnight rule being implemented in some cemeteries, he said that, personally, it is fine with him.
