MANILA, Philippines — National Capital Region Police Office Director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Corpus Nartatez Jr. on Wednesday said that All Saints’ Day in the metropolis is “very peaceful.”

Nartatez said that about 23,000 police and public safety officers, including those from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and other public safety forces, were deployed for Undas 2023 and the recently concluded barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

“As of now very peaceful ang ating pag conduct ng undas,” Nartatez told reporters in an interview at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
