LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested three suspected drug pushers, one of them armed, in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Indang, Cavite.
In a report on Wednesday, Nov. 1, the Region 4A police identified the arrested suspects only as “Aristeo,” “Russel,” and “Ronel.”
Members of the local police drug enforcement unit nabbed the suspects around 9:30 p.m. after they allegedly sold crystal meth to an undercover police officer acting as a drug user in Barangay Lumampong Balagbag.
“Aristeo” was found carrying an undocumented caliber .45 pistol loaded with seven bullets.
The confiscated firearm would be subjected to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine if it had been used in past crimes.
The group also seized three sachets of shabu (crystal meth) worth P1,380 and a cellphone which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if they have records of drug transactions.
The police tagged Aristeo as a street-level drug pusher in the locality, while “Russel” and “Ronel” were rookies.
All suspects are under police custody and will face a charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Aristeo will also face another case for illegal possession of a firearm and violation of the gun ban under the Omnibus Election Code due to the barangay polls held on Oct. 30.
The gun ban, which started on Aug. 28, will remain in effect until Nov. 29.
