MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday said that it moved its target date for the full implementation of its online portal, the Land Transport Management System (LTMS), from October to November.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II made the announcement exactly three weeks after initially announcing the agency was planning to fully implement the LTMS by the end of October.

According to Mendoza, in a statement, the LTMS encountered glitches that would still have to be fixed by consolidating the new online portal with the LTO’s old online systems.

“Right now, the good news is that we are in the final phase of consolidating these systems, and hopefully, we will be able to launch it before the end of November this year,” said Mendoza.

“There are still things to be done to make the entire IT system glitch-free, and that is the reason why we are now working double to make it available in the soonest possible time,” he added.

Up to this point, Mendoza said that the LTMS is already fully implemented for issuing driver’s licenses online.

However, it is still at 90 percent implementation in the renewal of vehicle registration 60 percent for newly-registered units.
