Rain in parts of PH, Metro Manila still at 36C – Pagasa

Parts of the country will experience rains due to an active low pressure area (ALPA) while temperature in Metro Manila could reach up to 36 degrees Celsius, state weather forecasters said Monday.

As of 2 in the morning, the ALPA was seen at 60 kilometers north northwest of General Santos City, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the Eastern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, it said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the eastern sections, it added.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over  Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, Pagasa said.

Hot weather is expected to continue across Luzon, according to Pagasa’s extended weather outlook.

Temperature in Metro Manila could reach up to 36 degrees Celsius, while Tuguegarao City could soar up to 37 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, Metro Manila hit its highest temperature for the day at  36.3 degrees Celsius at 1:50p.m.
