Seniors, PWDs in Muntinlupa find work
MANILA, Philippines The Muntinlupa City government has partnered with major food chains, including Jollibee Foods Corp., Greenwich Philippines, and Burger King Philippines.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod, the city’s legislative body, recently approved resolutions allowing the city to collaborate with these franchises, providing temporary employment opportunities for the elderly and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
“We are grateful to our city’s food establishments for taking the lead in employing and uplifting the lives of minority groups such as seniors and PWDs,” said Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon.
He also urged people to support said businesses. Under the approved Memorandum of Agreement, qualified senior citizens and PWDs interested in employment can apply at the Office of Senior Citizens’ Affairs and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office.
Applications will be processed by the Public Employment Services Office. Successful candidates will be involved in front-of-the-house tasks, such as table setting and welcoming guests, adding their diverse experiences to the city’s culinary industry.
