LUCENA CITY – Police arrested four suspected big-time traffickers on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 20 and 21) and seized P1.25 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm in separate buy-bust operations in Rizal, Cavite and Laguna provinces.

In a report, the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) said the drug enforcement unit in Rodriguez, Rizal, collared at around 2 a.m. on Saturday two drug suspects who were identified by their aliases as “Ron-Ron” and “Sophia” after they sold P15,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) San Rafael.

Authorities seized 11 plastic sachets of meth weighing 100 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P680,000.

The operatives also recovered an undocumented caliber .38 revolver with four bullets.

The police tagged the duo as included on the drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individuals in the local drug trade.

Meanwhile, in Bacoor City, Cavite, police officers busted alleged shabu peddler, “Joshua” in Barangay Panapaan 4 at 10 p.m. on Friday.

The suspect, also an HVI, was found with two sachets of shabu weighing 50 grams with a DDB value of P340,000.

Authorities also seized a mobile phone, which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if they have records of drug transactions.

The cops also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect in his illegal drug trade.

In Calamba City, Laguna, police arrested alias “Hasmin” in a sting operation in Barangay Real at 9:31 p.m. on Friday.

The suspect, an identified street-level drug pusher on the police watch list yielded six plastic sachets of meth with a DDB value P238,000.

All suspects were detained at the local police jails and are facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Ron-Ron” and “Sophia” will face another case for illegal possession of a firearm and violation of the gun ban under the election code which is in effect for the coming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) polls at the end of the month.
