Echo, Delta set up final duel in CEKALCO summer caging

TEAM Echo crushed Charlie, 79-61, while Delta nipped Bravo, 90-85, Friday night to set a finals duel in the Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO)-2012 summer basketball tournament at sitio A. Lopez open court in barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

Bravo led in the first three periods and even posted an 11-point lead, 43-32 at the half. But Delta struck hard in the third where it outscored Bravo, 30-22 to head into the final canto trailing by just three, 62-65.

Delta finally caught up with Bravo and tied the score at 85-all with 35 seconds remaining then scored the game’s final five points for the come-from-behind victory.

Julius Gutierrez and Edwin Lazaga paced Delta with 27 and 20 points, respectively, while Nelson Solana and Fritz Desoyo led Bravo with 27 and 24 markers.

Earlier, Echo led from start to finish to post the easy win over Charlie. Richie Villarosa and Kenneth Beltran led Echo with 23 and 17 points, respectively, while Bert Bistis paced the losing Charlie with 18 markers.

Echo and Delta will dispute the CEKALCO basketball crown while Bravo and Charlie will battle for third place.
