Salimbangon bags crown in 12-U class of Henry net
KRISTIN Renee Salimbangon emerged on top in the 4th Henry Lee Memorial Age-Group Tennis Championships after taking home the girls 12-under title yesterday at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City.
Salimbangon outlasted Mikaela Vicencio for the title after forcing a super tiebreak, 4-6, 6-3 (10-5).
After going up against each other in the singles event, Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino and Jan Godfrey Seno teamed up to win the boys 14-under doubles title.
Pantino and Seno, who are both from the University of San Carlos, beat the duo of Christian Lopez and Enrico Louis Ong in straight sets, 4-0, 4-0, for the title.
Up next for both USC netters is this year’s Palarong Pambansa on May 6 in Pangasinan.
Pantino will leave for Pangasinan on May 2 as he still has to continue his training.
