Tillor tops Labor Day ultramarathon

NOEL Tillor conquered the road anew as he topped the men’s  division of the Coast-to-Coast Labor Day Ultramarathon yesterday.

Tillor finished the 65-kilometer route from Cebu City to Toledo City via the Transcentral Highway with a time of five hours, 47 minutes and eight seconds.


Tillor was one of the 148 who was able to finish the race that ended at Toledo City’s old municipality hall.

Thirty-seven failed to finish the race.


The winner in the 100-kilometer ultramarathon from Bogo to Cebu City Bayani Alvarez finished second with a time of  six hours, 34 minutes and 26 seconds while third placer was Jieter Bada (6:34:21).

Virginia Parajenog from Toledo City dominated the women’s category with a time of eight hours, 17 minutes and 10 seconds.

Analisa Dacanaya placed second while Odiza Abellana settled for third.

Mizraim Capangpangan and Graciano Espina topped the relay category./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
