MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Jenny (international name: Koinu) will still enhance the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, which will bring windy and rainy weather conditions in Central and Southern Luzon, as well as Visayas, on Thursday.

This was the day’s forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), which also reported that Jenny may leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Thursday afternoon or evening.

Pagasa likewise kept Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 over Batanes and TCWS No. 2 over the northern portion of Babuyan Islands.

It also maintained TCWS No. 1 over the following areas:

  • The rest of Babuyan Islands
  • Northern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Lal-Lo, Camalaniugan, Pamplona, Claveria, Aparri, Ballesteros, Abulug, Allacapan, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Praxedes, Lasam, Gattaran)

(Let’s continue to be careful and know the safe place [to be safe] from the heavy rains and winds caused by the typhoon especially around Batanes because the center of the typhoon is close here.)

Similarly, Pagasa said gale warnings are still hoisted over the seaboards of Batanes, Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, and Ilocos Norte.
