No tropical cyclone wind signals have been raised, but the weather agency said that it may do so on Sunday or if forecast scenarios change, when the typhoon is expected to strengthen the southwest monsoon, bringing heavy rainfall in parts of northern Luzon, such as Batanes, as well as in central and southern Luzon.

“Considering the proximity of the tropical cyclone to land from the forecast track may result in heavy rainfall over Batanes and Babuyan Islands in the next five days. The Southwest Monsoon may be enhanced by this tropical cyclone beginning on Sunday, resulting in possible occasional rains over the western portions of Central and Southern Luzon,” it said in a bulletin.
