Pagasa: LPA east of Central Luzon enters PAR, now Tropical Depression Jenny
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) east of Central Luzon entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and has intensified into a tropical depression at 2:00 p.m. Friday, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has named it “Jenny,” the 10th tropical cyclone to enter the PAR this year.
It added that it will announce more details in its 5:00 p.m. weather bulletin.
Earlier, the Pagasa said that the trough of the LPA, along with the southwest monsoon, will bring rains in Metro Manila, Eastern, and Central Visayas, as well as in Palawan and the Zamboanga Peninsula.
It likewise cautioned that flash floods and landslides might occur in the mentioned areas due to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
