MANILA, Philippines — Cloud clusters with a chance of developing into low-pressure areas (LPAs) are currently being monitored in the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao.
Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued the advisory regarding the brewing LPA in Thursday’s bulletin.
“Mayroon po kaming binabantayan na mga kumpulan ng kaulapan sa Dagat Pasipiko sa east of Visayas at Mindanao. Base sa mga data na aming nakalap, may posibilidad na may mabuong LPA sa bandang kumpulan ng mga kaulapan na ito,” he said.
(We are monitoring cloud clusters in the Pacific Ocean east of Visayas and Mindanao. Based on the data we have gathered, there is a possibility of an LPA forming in this cluster of clouds.)
Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone will continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over many of Mindanao, particularly in the Davao Region, Caraga, and Eastern Visayas.
According to Pagasa, fair weather conditions are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
However, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced from afternoon to evening.
The country’s seaboards remain calm, and no gale warning signal is raised in any parts of the archipelago’s waters, said Aurelio.
