MANILA, Philippines — A large area of Mindanao will see rain on Monday due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a morning bulletin, weather specialist Obet Badrina said the ITCZ will bring a greater chance of rain in the southern portion of the country while Luzon and Visayas will have generally fair weather despite the possibility of overcast skies and precipitation from the afternoon to evening due to localized thunderstorms.
He also said Luzon and Visayas may expect a quite warm afternoon.

(ITCZ with clouds is what we expect to bring a greater chance of rain, especially in large parts of Mindanao. While in Luzon and the Visayas, isolated or scattered rain, lightning, and thunder will be experienced.)

(We expect that it will still be quite warm in the afternoon [in Luzon and Visayas] while there is a greater chance of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon until the evening.)
Meanwhile, Pagasa’s weather bulletin indicated that no low-pressure area is being monitored inside and outside of the Philippine area of responsibility and no cyclones are forecast to develop within the next two to three days.
