Rainy Monday in most parts of PH due to localized thunderstorm, ITCZ
MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers will prevail in most parts of the country due to localized thunderstorms and the prevalence of intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said on Sunday.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the rains brought by the localized thunderstorms are expected to affect most parts of Luzon and Visayas.
“Sa mga susunod na oras asahan ang pag ulan sa malaking bahagi ng bansa sa Luzon at Visayas ito po ay dulot ng localized thunderstorms,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said in an afternoon forecast.
(Localized thunderstorms will bring rain in most parts of the country in the next few days.)
He added that possible thunderstorms may last until Monday morning, which will likely be felt in Northern and Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan), and most of Visayas.
Estareja likewise reported that ITCZ will affect Mindanao and some parts of Visayas until Wednesday this week.
Moreover, he noted that no tropical cyclone is forecast to enter the country’s boundary within three days, but a possible circulation or low-pressure area may form near the ITCZ in the next few days.
