MANILA, Philippines — Several roads will be closed and traffic rerouting will be implemented in locations near the Metro Manila testing sites related to the 2023 Bar examinations on September 17, 20, and 24.
The following are locations with which the cities’ local government units have advised heavy traffic or have closed road lanes for the examination days:
Quezon City
Testing center: University of the Philippines-Diliman
Heavy traffic will be expected during the examination days on the following roads from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.:
- University Avenue
- C.P. Garcia Avenue
- Katipunan Avenue
- Commonwealth Avenue
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.
Manila
Testing centers
- University of Santo Tomas
- San Beda University
The following roads will be closed from 3:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Dapitan Street (from Lacson Avenue to Padre Noval Street)
- España Blvd. Westbound (two lanes, from Lacson Avenue to Padre Noval Street)
The roads below will also be closed from 2:00 am – 7:00 pm.
- Legarda Street Eastbound (two lanes, from San Rafael St. to Mendiola Street)
- Mendiola Street (both lanes, from Peace Arch to Malacañang Gate)
- Concepcion Aguila Street (both lanes, from Mendiola St. to Jose Laurel Street)
Heavy traffic is expected on both lanes of the areas mentioned above.
Muntinlupa City
Testing Center: San Beda College- Alabang
Only Don Manolo Street will be passable to the residents of Alabang Hills Village, the Bar examinees, and other authorized personnel.
Before entering Alabang Hills Village, persons must first present an identification card, a residence certificate, or any identifying document.
Deliveries of food and others for residents of Alabang Hills Village will only be permitted to enter from 8:00 a.m., or when the examinees have entered the testing center during the examination days.
Only five tricycle drivers have also been permitted by the Alabang Hills Village Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association to have their regular routes during examination days.
Meanwhile, the local government units of Pasay City and Taguig City, where the schools Manila Adventist College and the University of the Philippines – Bonifacio Global City were designated as testing sites, have not yet given any announcements on traffic adjustments during the examination days.
Aside from the Metro Manila testing centers, the Supreme Court has also designated the following testing centers for a total of 14 testing centers nationwide:
Luzon
- Saint Louis University
- Cagayan State University
- University of Nueva Caceres
Visayas
- University of San Jose – Recoletos
- University of San Carlos
- Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation
Mindanao
- Ateneo de Davao University
- Xavier University
This year’s examinations will cover six subjects: political and public international law; commercial and taxation law, civil law, labor law and social legislation, criminal law and remedial law; and legal and judicial ethics with practical exercises.
