UP bags top 5 spots in 2022 bar exams
The Supreme Court on Friday said a total of 3,992 out of 9,183 examinees or 43.47 percent passed the 2022 bar examination.
Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, chair of the bar exams, presented the 30 highest-rated passers, with the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law graduates dominating the top five places.
Czar Matthew Dayday, a UP graduate, topped all examinees with a score of 88.81 percent, followed by fellow UP graduate Erickson Mariñas who got 88.77 percent.
Others who made it to the Top 10 were Christiane Cregencia (UP, 87.97 percent); Andrea Yu (UP, 87.78 percent); Kim Gia Gatapia (UP 87.43 percent); Gabriel Gil Baes (University of San Carlos, 87.25 percent); Luigi Nico Reyes (San Beda College Alabang, 87.19 percent); Rio Mei Uy (Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), 87.06 percent), Mark David Vergara (ADMU, 87.01 percent) and Jaims Gabriel Orencia (ADMU, 86.90 percent).
The oath-taking and roll signing for the new Bar passers is set to be on May 2, 2023, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
