Man charged over death of 85-year-old hit by cement mixer truck
MANILA, Philippines — An 85-year-old man was killed after being hit by a cement mixer truck in Sta. Cruz, Manila, according to authorities.
The crash occurred along C.M. Recto Avenue, near Corner T. Mapua St. on Thursday afternoon, according to the Manila Police District (MPD).
MPD spokesperson Major Philipp Ines told INQUIRER.net on Friday that the elderly resident from the Binondo district was dead on the spot.

The 48-year-old driver of the cement mixer truck has been detained in the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit and is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, according to Ines.
