LUCENA CITY — Police seized on Thursday more than P220,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) from two alleged “high value” drug traffickers in this city.

Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, reported that anti-narcotics operatives arrested at 1:43 a.m. Jon John Sanchez, 44, and Andrelyn Sebuc, 42, after selling shabu worth P10,000 to a poseur buyer in Barangay Dalahican.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects four sachets of shabu weighing 10.8 grams valued at about P73,440 by the Dangerous Drugs Board.

It is worth P220,320 in the street market at P20,400 per gram, the report said.

Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.

Police said both suspects were on the drug watch list as “high-value individuals” in the local drug trade.

The report also disclosed that both suspects were previously charged with illegal drug charges but did not state why and when they were freed.

The suspects are now back in jail and are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
