Manila, Philippines — Local flights have been canceled on Wednesday as super typhoon “Goring” devastates parts of Northern Luzon, said the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).
Based on the state weather bureau’s latest typhoon bulletin, Goring was last spotted 90 kilometers west southwest of Basco, Batanes, bearing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts up to 240 kph.
While expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, it continues to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds in parts of Northern Luzon.
