Almost 8,000 people affected by Goring — NDRRMC
MANILA, Philippines — Almost 8,000 people in six regions nationwide have been affected by typhoon Goring, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s (NDRRMC) reported on Monday.
NDRRMC said of the 7,919 affected persons, most are in Cagayan Valley at 2,020; Western Visayas, 1,233; Ilocos region, 995; Calabarzon, 649; Mimaropa, 455; and Cordillera Administrative Region, 349.
A total of 665 persons from Ilocos, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa were preemptively evacuated.
No casualties were reported so far.
The total damage to infrastructure is at P40,000.

However, it is expected to become a super typhoon again on Tuesday, the state weather bureau warned.
