Rainy weekend for parts of Visayas, Mindanao due to habagat — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of Visayas and Mindanao may have a rainy weekend due to the southwest monsoon or habagat and cloud clusters east of the country, the state weather bureau said in its Friday afternoon update.

Satellite images from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also showed rain-inducing clouds over parts of Luzon’s extreme northern areas, Bicol Region, and over Palawan.

However, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have fair weather on Saturday.

Despite the rains, Pagasa said that no low pressure area or tropical cyclone was observed inside or near the Philippine area of responsibility.

For Saturday, temperatures over most of Luzon would remain warm, like Metro Manila with 27 to 33 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao with 26 to 35 degrees; Laoag and Legazpi with 27 to 32 degrees; Baguio with 18 to 24 degrees; and Tagaytay with 23 to 31 degrees.

Temperatures would be slightly lower for Visayas and Mindanao on Saturday due to the rains: Iloilo, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro would have something between 26 to 32 degrees Celsius; Cebu with 27 to 32 degrees; Tacloban with 27 to 31 degrees; and Zamboanga with 25 to 31 degrees.

No gale warning has been raised as of now, but conditions on Luzon’s northern waters would be moderate to rough.  The rest of the country’s seas would have a slight to moderate condition.
