A video of a Malaysian family’s surprise to their retiring Filipino household helper for 34 years has made rounds on social media.
As a parting gift to someone they consider as a mother figure, they handcrafted a special ’memory quilt.’
“She was like a second mother figure to us, and we respected her that way as well. We never understood the concept of Auntie being there to serve us but more like Auntie being there to help my parents, to raise us,” Singpore-based quilt maker Esther Lau said.
